As Toad just said on the sat-phone we love our fairy tales. This young commoner marries the crown princess and then they have a baby! And Sweden will be ruled by two consecutive Queens, what a giant leap for feminism! Could only the duchess of Cambridge deliver a girl as well. The civilized world will be ruled by Queens in a generation or two.

Frankly I’m a bit depressed by the roller cast ride induced by the cradle of civilisation. Greece have not managed to relive its glorious past. One really should have noticed when Kenteris and Thanou crashed their motorcycle just before the Athens Olympics. I say as Hamlet ”Something is rotten in the state of Greece”.A sort of self-styled Hellenistic oligarchs have run the country as a private amphitheatre. Where the audience happily have chew away on foreign Euro-candy, believing that the drama is just on the stage, with the comfort of knowing that a their pension scheme soon will kick in.

But I have have a solution. Lets sell the Elgin Marbles and the Pergamont Altar!!!The English really like Toscan more than Greece so they will not bother and the Germans are you plain feed up with writing cheques for the Sunny State. And they have Goethe Schiller and Caspar David Friedrich.

A quick count in m y head would put the number of figures and statues in both of these great works of art to about 300, maybe a modest figure. In 2007 a Roman cast of a Greece sculpture fetched 28,6 million USD at Sothebys NY. If we would say that the auction value would increase 5-6 times for the real stuff and not a roman copy, we would land at 525 Billion USD and that is exactly what the Norwegian pension fund have.

The Norwegians in desperate need of a bit more culture than their Viking past can give them. Should buy the Elgin Marbles and the Pergamont Altar. These works of art would be safe in the small hamlet of Oslo, in a stable Nordic democracy. And putting the Pergamont altar at the top of Holmenkollen Mountain in Oslo, a seismic shift of culture would be achieved. The North would not longer be remembered for its rape and pillage drinking, but its advanced and sublet sculptures.

It feels like Monaco is embracing the wedding , so we have high hopes the event will respond to the principalities glamorous reputation.

It has been said that a hord of 200,000 riff-raffs have descended on the small state for the wedding on Friday.
I have book myself into a private villa. No expense has been spared. A royal wedding is a royal wedding!
I hope that Monaco will seen the same extravagance as when Grace Kelly, the blue-eyed Hollywood beauty said ”oui” to Prince Rainier III in 1956, Ushering an unprecedented era of glamour marred by her tragic death in a car crash nearly 30 years ago.

A plethora of celebrities and heads of state are expected to attend, including Archie Grand, the Toad, President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, King Carl Gustaf of Sweden and fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, as well as top names from the sporting and music world.

I do envy the Monagesques who have at ringside followed the colourful love life of the Grimaldis for decades. Albert has been amorously linked to Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Gwyneth Paltrow MODELS I MET AND LIKED!!!!, and has two illegitimate children from a former waitress from California and a Togolese air stewardess. LOVERS I HAD AND IKED!!!

On September 13, 1944, a beautiful Indian princess lay dead on the floor at Dachau concentration camp. She had been brutally tortured by the Nazis then shot in the head. Her name was Noor Inayat Khan. The Germans knew her only as Nora Baker, a British spy. The first female radio operator to infiltrate occupied Paris, she was posthumously awarded the Croix de Guerre and the George Cross – one of only three women from the Special Operations Executive to receive the latter medal. But while Odette Hallowes and Violette Szabo have had Hollywood films made of their lives and blue plaques put up in their honour, Noor has been largely overlooked.

The gentle Indian woman who sacrificed her life for Britain, has become a footnote in history. A memorial to her has long been overdue. And when a bust of Noor goes up in London’s Gordon Square in 2012, it will be the first statue to an Indian woman in Britain – and the first to any Muslim. Given the contribution of Asian women in this country to arts, music, literature, law, human rights and education, it is a gap that is crying to out be filled.

Noor’s journey from her birthplace in Moscow to London was in many ways part of her exotic upbringing. A descendant of Tipu Sultan – the famous 18th century ruler of South India, known as the Tiger of Mysore – she was brought up a fierce nationalist by her father, Hazrat Inayat Khan, a Sufi preacher and musician.

Noor was trained as a secret agent, given arms training, taught to shoot and kill, and finally flown to Paris under the code name of Madeleine, carrying only a false passport, a clutch of French francs and a pistol. Despite her spy network collapsing around her, Noor stayed in France for three months, until she was betrayed. What followed in October 1943 was arrest, imprisonment in chains, torture and interrogation. Noor bore it all. She revealed nothing to her captors, not even her real name. When the end came on September 13, 1944, it was not swift or painless. Defiant till the last, she shouted “Liberte” as she went down to a bullet fired at the back of her head.

Are in the final days of their long time project ”Northern Women in CHANEL”.

On the 30th of June it will all be released with a smashing opening show at Fotografiska in Stockholm.

I have followed the project during its development, And I can only say that when you embark on a task so massive as a book with supermodels like Freja Beha Erichsen, Helena Christensen, Iselin Steiro, Edita Vilkeviciute, Sigrid Ågren, Suvi Koponen, Kirsi Phyronen, Carmen Kass, Siri Tollerod och Caroline Winberg, all wearing Chanel.

You better walk hand in hand with someone you love. Almost all great artistic endeavours are the fruit of a partnership, mostly only one of the creators are visible, but in the great book of fashion photography as this is, I would say that Ingela and Peter are booth as present.
That´s the spirit!

I shall have an in depth interview with the lovely couple after they have landed on the planet earth again, sometime after the 30th of June.

The Book is limited to 2112 copies world wide, each hand numbered, and ist a gigant at a whopping 4,7 Kg.

The corruption needs to be fought by new means.
In a society where nepotism and desperate need to rule are omnipotent. The European community will have to find a new order to tackle these problems.
The periodically elected head of states and their governments and the European parliament are at the moment just not good enough. Personal short gained victories or just plain daftness have led to an alarming lack of civil servant-ness.

To rule others in a democracy is an HOUNUR. It is not a vehicle to propel your personal fortune!

I ask for a new European house of merits.
Where a collection of Europeans from all walks of life would form an institution, that would answer the question: Quis custodiet ipsos custodes (who watches the watchmen). This house of merits would be the watchmen that watch the elected politicians.
Being elected on personal merit, craftsmanship, social empathy, academic brilliance, artistic talent and so forth. Then given a seat in the house of merits for life.
The house fundamental task would be to check and check again on corruption, short term political gains and fight the growing threat to freedom of speech and freedom of communication.

One that might have been elected is Alan Clark. (English politician 1928-1999)

If only someone would have listened! We might not have needed to bail out the post-sultan economy!
